Personal Statement:

Sydney P. Waldorf is a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan who has a passion for her work and her clients.  Sydney knew at the young age of ten that she wanted to be an attorney. She followed through on her goal, after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan (1999), she went to Michigan State University Detroit College of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor Cum Laude.

While in undergraduate school and law school, Sydney had the opportunity to work with local firms in the estate planning and estate administration arena. It was there she developed her desire to make sure every client has an understanding of their own estate plan.

Sydney takes pride in her ability to work with any estate, small or large, and to break down the appropriate steps for the client so that they understand the necessary planning as well as to assure their own goals

Sydney spends much of her practice in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, wealth management and estate administration but often finds that her clients come back with other matters that she is happy to work on including contract review, real-estate matters, formation of an LLC and other matters affecting individuals and small business.

No client is too big or too small. Sydney’s goal is to help everyone achieve their wishes and objectives.

Personal Statement:

I enjoy helping business people and their employees accomplish their goals.  Ideally, I help them stay out of trouble by making sure they dot their “i”s and cross their “t”s.  But sometimes problems arise, and when they do, my goal is to help our clients resolve the problem in the most economical and advantageous way possible.

I get excited seeing clients succeed, whether it is purchasing a new business, selling an existing business and securing a well-deserved retirement, or entering into that next big deal.  The client is the person getting things done.  My job is to help them.

Growing up in Kalamazoo, my parents owned and operated a small GE appliance store, so I am sensitive to the cost of legal matters and understand that small business cannot afford to spend an arm and leg on attorney fees.  I will be upfront with you about legal fees and I will work with you to find ways to minimize the expense.

I have a broad base of experience in business law which gives me a unique ability to help clients achieve their goals.  I practiced for several years in large Chicago law firms working for some of the country’s biggest companies, and I’ve spent the last 18 years in Kalamazoo working with individuals and small to medium-sized companies.

If there is a specific matter for which you are seeking assistance, I encourage you to read the short summaries of each of our practice areas.  I’m sure we can help!
